As a response to disruptive sector changes and increased competition, many UK Universities are embarking on a quest to digitally transform their institution.

With increasingly higher personal investment by students in degree courses, universities need to be able to demonstrate value through the success of their students and alumni. Attraction and retention of students is just one of the challenges facing universities in the UK, and with so many disparate factors that can contribute to the overall experience and outcomes of students in Higher Education, providing them with the best possible support and guidance can be a difficult task to manage at an institutional level.

The amount of data relating to all aspects of running an academic institution is being created at an exponential rate, creating a situation where there are numerous operational and regulatory challenges facing those responsible for safeguarding students and individuals. However, therein also lies opportunity. Breaking up the incumbencies of data silos and critically analysing this information as a whole and how it relates to other outcomes and behaviours, is allowing for more informed decision making, more timely interventions, and the transformation of how an institution fundamentally addresses both its pedagogical and operational strategies.

This event is designed to help those who are already in progress or are just commencing the journey of digital transformation. During the event we are fortunate to be joined by a number of representatives from academic institutions, Jisc, partner organisations and members of the Microsoft Education Team, who will collectively share the vision and aspects of the process. The sessions will seek to address key questions and topics such as:

• How can more time and budget be focussed on innovation and creativity?

• What will be the impact of Artificial Intelligence on teaching and learning, student analytics and research?

• How will institutions manage a multi-faceted environment from on premise to Public Cloud?

• How can an institution differentiate in an increasingly competitive environment?

• Can central IT Services provide an agile, scalable and protected environment for researchers?
